Birch bark has many layers, like filo dough. The top white layer was peeled off to the yellow layer, with amber shellac brushed over it for the golden color. White bark strips were cut and adhered then outlined with reddish Birch twigs for a spectacular sunrise effect! The lid is knotty pine, brushed with amber shellac and twigs on top. A bed frame is under the mattress. Has strong leather handles. It is 7' long by 28" wide by 22" high and weighs 120 lbs. $5,000.00 plus (tax in NY) and shipping.
